We are going to take a look at the possibilities of what next for Ubisoft with the iconic Assassin’s Creed series. Where will the next Assassin’s Creed be set? What will the story entail? Well with being a massive AC fan and a lot of research I hope to cover all that for you within this article.
With the latest edition of the Assassin’s Creed series, we can say without a doubt that Ubisoft has raised the level of quality. The developement team have made huge steps forwards in correcting those annoying bugs that we all love to hate but hate to love. Remember when you wanted to climb a wall in Roma and Ezio was just staying there, staring at the wall? Yeah, I got all the games. As a matter of fact, the Assassin’s Creed collection thought me more about ancient history then school class. Maybe I wasn’t paying as much attention as I should have to but, nonetheless, Ubisoft have scored a big goal on the historic part. Can you tell me, honestly, that you never wanted to go back in time in Italy during the Renaissance and visit Monteriggini? Or sail the Caribbean Seas on the Jackdaw with Kenway? Help the Frye Twins with the Orphans or join the Rooks? Yeah, part of this isn’t all true, I’m not a fool either.
After Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, I was like : “Okay, Ubi, what you got for me next?”. And I must say, I wasn’t disappointed. Assassins Creed Origins is, one of the best of the series. My personnal favorite is and will stay “Black Flag” but, for the gameplay, the graphics, the changes they made to the combat system, the way we can level up Bayek is truly remarkable. But now what? What’s in the making? I’ve been trying to keep myself up-to-date on the subject and here is some of the things that have been spreading across the globe.
As we can see at the ending of Origins, Bayek is a Medjay no-more. He is the first Assassin. The Creator of the Guild and Aya, now known as Amunet, is roaming free with Brutus. Their destination : Roma. If Ubisoft want to go down that way, I have no problem, because we know that Aya was buried with Bayek so, their stories are two separate. We have seen Bayek’s one so… Now let’s see Amunet’s one. It will be fun to know how the armor of Brutus (the one we get Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood) came into possession of such low-life as these Romulus followers…
Assassins Creed Set In Japan?
Rumours wants to tell us that we are going to Japan ladies and gents. Yup. You read me well. Japan. Samurais. Katanas. Feudal Lords. Ninjas. What can we expect from an Assassin’s Creed game during the feudal time Japan? So much, I’m almost drooling! Assassins are made to be ninjas. Stealth attacks. Hiding in dark corners. Disappearing in a crowded hall. This game would on an other level, as long as they don’t copy-cat “For Honor”! I don’t mind playing a samurai in quest for venging his murdered daimio but I don’t want to have to run all across Japan just to get one treasure chest. Of course, with the quick travel who is in the series since Black Flag, it’s a little less of a pain in the … Well, you know what I mean! But, once again, keep in mind that it’s just a rumour, and nothing is sure about this.
Assassins Creed Set In China?
From Japan, we continue our travel in the Far East to China. They seem to already have a name for this one : “Dynasty”. Huh. Yeah. Did anyone has heard of : Chronicles? Shao Jun? Trained by Ezio before he passed away? Sure it was a 2-d scroller but we have already been in China. Why would they want us to come back? Maybe 600 years before that? Dynasty could mean that we are at the same time as the “Ming Dynasty” or something like that. Let’s just hope this game stays on the shelves for still a while longer!
Vikings In Assassins Creed?
From the Far East, we go up North. Way up North. Vikings territory! SKAL! Now! Let’s talk about something that would be fun to play. A fierce Viking, 6 feet 5, 250 pounds, afraid of nothing, with the skills of an Assassin. Double handed axe as a primary weapon. His village attacked and sacked by Templars Knights, only survivor, on a quest for revenge. I’m just saying some of the things that I’m hoping for the next Assassin’s Creed game, but you must admit that it would be very cool to enter the Animus and play with that guy. I don’t know if you have noticed while playing Origins, but the loading symbol, is 3 triangles, united into Infinity. Eternity. Yeah, as one of my buddies told me : “Triangles means Pyramids”. Yeah. I can agree with that. No problem. The problem is : They are united. They are interlocked. Just as the Viking’s symbol of “Time and Divination”. I thunk, it’s probably the most genuine hint on the next Assassin’s Creed game. I’ve read a lot about and the name that is coming the more often? “Ragnarok”. I will keep on searching for clues in Origins.
Assassins Creed Knights?
5 Knights. Yeah. Samurais. Vikings. Knights. It’s like I’m talking about “For Honor” huh? But in fact, they could very well be members of the Guild in all of these communities. If you remember, in Rogue, Cormac betrays the Guild, and go on joining the Order of the Templars. He is now… a Knight. Well… In fact, they could be doing a sort of mix between all of the above. Where Aya and Brutus travel all around the globe to gather the best fighters they can find and to train them to be Masters in their home place.
This is just all hypothesis from a fan of the game who want to find the truth. I have played them all. I own them all. From Altaïr Ibn La-Ahad to Bayek of Siwa. Name it. I got it. I have completed it. Several times each. I know my Assassin’s and I want you to know and to love them as much as I do. I can’t wait for the day Ubisoft is going to make their move and tell us where the game is settled. Let’s hope they will listen to their gamers. ‘Cause who else except a gamer knows what he wants? Yeah, we pay hard earned money for these games, we want to have fun. We want to see that the techs are listening to their gamers base.
That’s it for me!
Assassin: “Where other men blindly follow the truth, remember…”
Initiate: “Nothing is true.”
Assassin: “Where other men are limited by morality or law, remember…”
Initiate: “Everything is permitted.”
Assassin: “We work in the dark to serve the light. We are Assassins.”
