E3 2018 has finally arrived! Giving gaming enthusiasts alike a chance to scope out the best title coming to XBOX, PlayStation, Nintendo and PC. With a few mobile games thrown in to boot. One of amazing titles on show that was the eagerly anticipated, The Division 2 by Ubisoft. We are going to take a closer look at what we learnt from the footage and tell you everything you need to know about Ubisoft’s The Division 2 E3 Conference.
The Division 2 Release Date.
It has been confirmed The Division 2 will be released on 15th March 2019 on PlayStation, XBOX and PC. It will be set 7 months after the virus hit New York. In the capital, Washington DC. Agents of The Division are the last line of defence for the civilians and the nation, as society tries to rebuild after the chaos. Your actions will determine the life of the civilians and also affect the outcome.
This is histories defining moment, hope for the future lies in you.
How Big Will The Map Be In The Division 2?
Unlike anything before it, The Division 2 location of choice, Washington DC will be a 1:1 representation of the actually city. Making it at least 20% bigger than its prequel.
The game offers up close and personal views of landmarks, natural landscapes, neighbours and enemy hideouts.
From this quote from the guys over at Ubisoft, I’m thinking these areas will be more exploratory, more accessible and give us a more in-depth gaming experience. The map itself will have a bit more diversity rather than its copy and pasted counterpart. Although The Division map was very detailed, it felt rather empty and very repetitive in its layout.
The Division 2 End Game Progression.
At the end of the campaign you have the chance to pick 1 of 3 specialists which come with their very own, unique signature weapon. Sharpshooter comes with the 50.cal sniper rifle, whilst the M32A1 grenade launcher comes with the demolitionist specialist and finally the Survivalist and explosive tipped crossbow come hand in hand.
As you increase in power you unlock additional tools and abilities including exclusive versions of skills. Specialisations truly let you complete your very own personal play style, taking team play even further.
The Division 2 8 Player RAIDS!
That’s right, Ubisoft proudly announced The Division 2 will have eight-player raids. Raids are extremely difficult cooperative missions, were you fight together to take down the enemy. It sounds very familiar to 4 player Incursions found in The Division. With raids being 8 player I can imagine they’ll be pretty similar, on a larger scale.
“These challenging missions will test the skill, communication, and teamwork of even the most expert Agents.”
The Division 2 First Year Content Will Be FREE!
Ubisoft have confirmed they plan to have YEARS of frequent major content updates. In The Division 1 first year content alone, the creators have made 3 DLCs available. They will arrive in similar the episodic format The Division offered and all will include new story, new areas to be explored, new activities and all of it will be FREE!
I can only see this as Ubisoft trying to say a massive sorry to the fan base after all the teething problems the first time around, mainly surround patch 1.3.
America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
Is The Division 2 Dark Zone Battle Royale?
It has been confirmed the Dark Zone will be back in The a Division 2, whether or not it will be a Battle Royale format is another story. Logically I cannot see this being the case and knowing what we do from The Division, it is more likely to be a add on the the games main HQ like Last Stand, The Underground and the nearest thing to a Battle Royale, Survival.
“I want to confirm we’re super committed to PvP, it’s an important part of The Division 2. The Dark Zone is something that’s very dear to us and we acknowledge that it wasn’t without some issues,”
Ubisoft plan to release more information about the first 8-player raid in The Division 2 closer to the game’s release date.
Well that’s everything we have learned from Ubisoft’s The Division 2 E3 Conference. To be one of the first to play, you can sign up for The Division 2 BETA on their website here.
